Hand Dyed and Hand Knit Baby Hat

Angora wool is considered one of the most luxurious of all fibers. It is said to be seven times warmer than wool and silky soft. It is surprisingly easy to spin. It can be spun carded or just off the rabbit without any preparation. Sheared bunny wool is no more difficult to spin than plucked wool.

Angora wool sold at Bungalow Farm is prime wool. Prime wool is considered adult angora wool at least 2.5 to 3.5 inches in length. It is matt free and clean, and has no second cuts. Our Prime wool is German angora wool that has unbelievable crimp and luster.

We also have Prime colored wool from our pure German and high percentage German cross rabbits. These animals are from both the 2002 and 2006 German import lines. Typically, only black is available.

Prepared Angora blend roving that have been hand dyed are also available. Our roving is an amazingly light and consistent product. Because care is made to ensure the blended fibers are of equal length, there is less tendency to pill.

Blue Opal Batt

You will find our roving easy to spin and capable of a nep and pill free yarn. We are now offering felting batts. These are sheets of blended angora and merino wool that can be peeled apart for wet or dry felting. They spin amazingly well too. Inquire for color availability.

Mill Spun Angora Yarn

Mill spun yarn is a new item here at Bungalow Farm. We have Angora Blizzard, a 85% German Angora/15% Merino Wool two ply yarn and Angora Frost, a 50% German Angora/30% nylon/20% Superwash Merino wool three ply yarn. Both yarns are considered heavy fingering weight that knit up in a wide range of gauges. They are gorgeous yarns that knit like a dream with lovely luster and hand.

The Angora Frost is perfect for socks and is available in a wide variety of colors, both solid and variegated. Please inquire for current stock.

All mill spun yarns are spun from the International Association of German Angora Rabbit Breeders angora grown on small farms to the highest standards of care. The Co-op yarn is from rabbits raised with care and diligence to provide the best product available. This yarn is spun from Prime wool that has been shorn every 90 days. The consistent length and texture makes for a naturally shed and pill resistant yarn.

Yarns can be custom spun and dyed to your specifications.
